Research Awards

Following the Request for Proposals, five highly meritorious proposals were selected by a committee of colleagues from Harvard Medical School and its affiliated hospitals who based their ratings on the criteria of clinical applicability, research strategy and novelty.

The total amount granted to each project is USD $240,000 total costs per year to be shared among all collaborators involved in the project. The funding period will be four years beginning July 1, 2020. Continued funding will be contingent upon submission of an annual progress report demonstrating satisfactory progress.

We are pleased to note that the Blavatnik Sensory Disorders Program has made one grant to Massachusetts General Hospital on an emergency basis, to support the development of a simple and safe olfactory test for diagnosis of COVID-19. This is a small, short-term grant that will not impact additional awards from the Sensory Disorders Program.
